Thread: What's your native language?

My native language is the kind of English they speak in England. Most people call it British English, but I think I'll call it English English.

Mexican Spanish!!!

Russian, Latvian.

My native languages are Russian and Belorussian. But I know Russian better than Belorussian.

Need more help with my English language skills

The biggest issue I am currently having is pronunciation,

constructing a sentence with correct grammar, and understanding a

speaker. I am pretty good with reading and saying enough words to get

by but I need A lot more practice. I want to further my British

English speaking but need help and someone who will help me out.

I can offer Russian language help if you need be.

I speak English. Some would claim it's "redneck" English, since I'm from the "Southern" United States.

I'm glad to find this forum. I would love to learn Russian!

I speak German also and study Russian and French.

Someone said that person can't have two native languages, but he can. My native languages are: Ukrainian and Russian.

I doubt any Brit would say "different than". They seem to prefer "different from" or "different to". So, yeah, American English is different

My native language is Dutch and I also speak English. I'm studying Russian.

Russian

Spanish is my native language, English is my second. I have a mixed baby, Who's father from Russia and it is important to both of us that our child learns Spanish and Russian. So I am trying to learn Russian as well, so in the time I have I am able to speak with my baby in Russian so she knows it just as well as she does Spanish.

That sounds clumsy, so you wouldn't hear that. Better would be "are there any differences here" - but that's not especially common. But certainly "different from" and "different to" you will hear.
