    Victory Day Parades

I would like to see some photos. I can find "Stock footage" and my net-pals are sending daughters to take pix. A photo or two and the Russian city where it was taken would be nice. A photo of a proud Veteran with medals is 10 points. Soviet could make a parade!
I'm easily amused late at night...

I was on Tverskaya street and saw the jets flying to and the tanks moving back from the parade. I made lots of photos but amd too lazy to resize them for photobucket. I have never seen so many machines moving so close and it was really great. Many drivers vawed and puted their hands to their temples as the soldiers do and they also made a loud signals. THe most horrible thing were ракеты Тополь and самоходные гаубицы. And the jets as well. The roar of all of these hell things was so impressive!
    Я так думаю.

9 мая жители Зеленограда наблюдали в небе самолеты военной авиации, следовавшие на Парад Победы над Красной площадью.

I got quite a few sent from Ryazan and waiting on Izhevsk. Not quite a Red Square blowout, but interesting to see. Military parades are rare here. A few veterans in Memorial Day parades, but no tanks etc.

Actually there are videos of Moscow and Peterbourg parades on the net, if you feel like downloading 700mb, I can find links. And I thought all десантники from Ryazan went to Moscow parade :)

Plenty of десантники (Airborne / Snake-eaters) on parade in Ryazan. Some smaller wheeled armored units but no main battle tanks to tear up the streets (I think Kommersant had an article about Moscow having some rubles to repair the streets). A friend's 14 year old daughter took the photos, so that was the perspective I got.

    Semper Paratus net surfer?

We have a parade here on our National Holiday (21st of July), but compared to the Russian parades - well, I think the Red Square Parade wouldn't fit into Belgium at all, it would probably spill over into France and Holland....

What I find most impressive are not so much the machines (they're too noisy anyway :P ), but the soldier drills and parading - such synchronism, such movement (OK, so I busy myself with dance in my everyday life - maybe that has something to do with it )

A couple of years ago, there was a jubilee, and we had a proper parade, with military guest "performers" ( ), each with their own style and drills - beautiful! But they got into trouble with their timing: one of the African teams (Was it Ghana - I don't remember), had a slow motion parade, very, very slow motion. Absolutely stunning to watch, these guys must be soooo strong - but it took them ages to get across the square.

Thankfully, the Running Italians were there as well (also impressive to watch!), they made up for a bit of the time.....

But I'd positively love to see the Red Square Parade as well - Capecoddah - you wanna come?

I've never been to Brussels to see a parade, but we had some parades in the neighbourhood for 60years of liberation. It was cool to see Sherman tanks.

It's a pitty that we don't see T34's cruising around in Belgium for a parade to celebrate the end of World War II.

I couldn't open your pic - but was it something like this? :

Well - we do have the C130's.... .... great sound, they make the windows shake as they pass by....

PS: do we have a Parade for the end of WWII?! (Except the 7 man and a paardekop (7 oudstrijders + 1 king, hehehehehehe) at the Unknown Soldier's statue?! )
