    Typing

O.K. ladies and gentleman, I know this has to be somewhere else on this site, but I am having a little trouble finding it.
How do you type in Russian?
I don't mean like in Miscrosoft Office, I mean how do you get the Cyrillic characters to appear in this forum? A website here says to go into your control panel on your computer and change the language, but idon't want my entire computer in Russian (I'm just starting to learn the language). I have all sort of questions about conjugation and declension, but I can't type examples. As I said before, I'm sure that it's arpimd here someone, and you all probably think I'm an idiot, but any help for a beginner would be greatly appreciated.
    Git 'er done!

You are not changing the language, you are adding a language.

Once added you go to the bar at the top of your browser and click on "view" and then "character encoding" and click on "cyrillic windows" . THis will enable you to see cyrillic instead of all those squiggles.

Unfortunately, you can't turn Windows Russian. You can add a Russian keyboard, and view Russian websites.

    For XP users:
    Start
    Control Panel
    Date, Time, Language, Regional Options
    Add Other Languages
    Add
    Select Russian from the list
    Apply
    Apply

To switch between languages click the EN button on the taskbar, or press CTRL+Shift or it might be ALT+Shift

You can turn some aspects of Windows Russian. Every time I change my nVidia graphics card settings, the entire thing is in Russian. I can also name folders and files in Russian. Here's how you do it(and I know Pavel_USA is going to have a fit about it):

Go to Control Panel, Regional & Language Settings, Advanced

Where you see "Default language for non-Unicode programs" click "Russian."

Pavel_USA told me this shouldn't be done on non-English versions of windows, as it can cause some accented or umlauted characters to appear as Russian ones.

I can name files and folders in Cyrillic, but sometimes the computer doesn't like it. And you can't burn them onto a CD.
