Every new post, Vadim, is making me think that you train your English as much as you can.
    Precisely!

Mind you, that does not necessarily mean Kalinka is innocent

Net Surfer (WB ) - you should have gone to Rome and nicked the Coliseum instead! Pieces of wall are a good asset (see also sales statistics of "Berlin Wall" in 1989 - and don't forget that the NYSE is on Wall Street...). And now that it's one of the Wonders Of The World, it'd bring in much better money than glass. Also, the Roman carabinieri are too busy looking good to catch coliseum thieves......

As for Kalinka..... friends, friends! Let not our minds be clouded by prejudices....... I, personally, go with the Swede theory as well.

You see, the motive wasn't money, but jealousy! This Swede was blinded with jealousy, because his mighty and glorious neighbours, the Danes, have built a bridge from Denmark to Sweden. He also wanted one from Sweden to Denmark! Pure ego! That, and of course, it would make it easier for him to go and get drunk in Copenhagen on weekends.....

PS: Вадимчик, I fully agree with the others - your English is absolutely excellent. Probably better than that of many native speakers!

Thank you, although I suspect "absolutely excellent" is an exaggeration
    I can read fluently.
I can write decent English since I have time to think and look in the dictionary.
I can listen to English and understand most of what I hear.
But! The problem is I can't speak good English

unfortunately, that's the exact order one usually develops proficiency in a language; reading, writing, and then speaking.
Correct my mistakes and I will give you +1 internets.

Thanks BY! My knight in shining armor! Well, I should paraphrase: my witch on a shining broom! The logic of a Swede's mind is very complicated and sometimes isn't even present! You can always blame the Swedes... and Net Surfer, sometimes both.

Thanks for the compliments guys and gals, but I think you overestimate some of us (particularily me), after all you've never heard us speak Russian!

I dont know whats wrong with me then. I have no trouble actually speaking it (though not without prompt for some time until I have remembered it) but the reading and writing bit is what eludes me!
More madness than method but it works for me.

    NEWSFLASH: THE SWEDE STRIKES AGAIN!

On monday, october 16th, train traffic came to a standstill in the small kingdom of Belgium, when wrongdoers had cut one of the main train power lines in an attempt to steal it. In the process, they created a humongous short circuit, which left the poor people of Belgium without public transport for hours.

Though police first thought the criminals wanted to steal the line in order to sell the copper it is made of, following tips from an unknown Norwegian person and and an anglo-russian glass thief, the perpetrator is now believed to be the infamous Swedish Bridge-Thief (allegedly related to the Swedish Cook), who clearly wanted to use the line to run a train over the bridge he pilfered earlier.

The authorities are at this point urging the public to be vigilant. Any suspicious swedish-looking people, loitering around around the Chunnel should be reported immediately, as it is believed an underwater tunnel is next on the criminal's wish list.

    Some people indeed!

*LOL* - no, no, it's true enough.

Both yesterday morning and this night several train connections were out of service because the lines had gone..... Apparently, that kind of copper line sells for about 5 euros per metre.... So it's popular....

Lots of cars on the road today....

I thought there are no crimes in Belgium at all...excluding kidnapping.
I was sure that the copper hunters exist only in the former USSR area! I am surprized they appear in Western Europe too. Perhaps it is a natural migration - they stole everything here and have no more copper to earn for living. So they just went to the West? like Celts or Hunnes.
    Я так думаю.
