Thread: Russian Video Games?

Hey...

Are there any Russian video games or video games "in russian" out there for the Xbox 360 console or for computer?

If anybody knows whether they exist and where I can get them it'd be awesome...

...Or is it a case in which Russians play video games that are completely in English...?

I loved "Космические рейндежры" back in the time... like, seriously, loooved it. Nice graphics, hilarious dialogs and a balanced mix of everything - real-time battles, strategy, quests and puzzles, etc.

I can recommend a few pc games.

There are two rather unique games from the studio Ice Pick Lodge: Мор. Утопия (English localisation: Pathologic) and Тургор (eng version: Tension - so far unreleased). These games are noted for their great atmosphere and unusual game mechanics, but they are very text heavy.

Kings Bounty: Легенда Рыцаре is a new tactical turn-based game which has received very good reviews.

Lineage 2 is very popular among Russian speakers, and there are lots of free-to-play Russian servers out there.

And finally, of course, there is S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl. You can always go the whole hog and play in the original Russian, but even with the english release, most of the AI speech (during battles etc.) went untranslated. An excellent game.

I would probably second Мор: Утопия.

I got a brief look at it a couple of months ago, it seemed very interesting. But I doubt that it's suitable for learning Russian. Even for native speakers some texts just read like complete nonsense at best. It's not about grammar, though, that's O.K.

Stalker: Call of pripyat Stalker: Clear Skies Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl. All amazing games. Making a bit in story. Metro 2032 and Metro: 2033 Last Light. Holy crap awesome games. Though warning its graphic and badass. There is another one... I forget the name... Deep or Something its like your stuck on a frozen ship or something I think its also made by deep silver.
