It's interesting that here in the DC area we have the Washington, DC to New York, NY bus service. When it first started out it was called the Chinatown Bus because you took the bus from Chinatown in DC to Chinatown in NY. The girls and I had the unfortunate case to use the service as it was the only inexpensive means to get back and forth from here to there and I do mean inexpensive, under $20 each way, and to top it off, it ran almost every hour. These buses were like third world buses... the bathroom, if you could call it that was more like an outhouse. We learned to either not go or to bring our toilet paper, toilet seat covers and hand sainitizer. The bus was filthy too. The bus driver and other passengers, mostly Chinese, oh my... so rude. Don't look at them or ask any questions. Don't try to change your ticket or ask about the fact that the bus was full and you had a paid ticket and there were no more seats left. Just be thankful that you were in line and another bus would be coming at some point to take you.

Thank goodness there are now other bus services on the route now that are in competition and for a few more dollars you can get to and from safer, cleaner and with nicer people.
