Thread: Report from Kremlin

It has been reported that the Kremlin has leaked a story and I want to know if anyone has heard of this story from the Russian news media.

The story is that there have been secret talks going on between Australia, USA, Great Britain and other Commonwealth countries. These talks have been about the possibility of the Australian government evacuating one half on the population, almost 11 million people, due to the current severe drought in Australia. (The worst on record ever)

The Australian Government plans to ban irrigation to one third of the countries crop land and farms if no significant rain falls in the next 6 to 8 weeks. This will cripple the Australian economy and have reaching effects on other countries also.

I have found a few blog sites in English concerning this but nothing by the major media. Is there anything in the Russian press?

The commander of the drought and the crew have been appointed for the Hero of Russian Federation title.

Never heard of that, but it would suck big time if that is true... I met some nice people from down under on the Net, and I have a lot of simpathy for Australia's very un-PC stand on certain problems... I really hope they get that rain soon.

Edit: Just yandexed for "засуха в Австралии". Apparently, the drought itself is widely discussed in Russian media. But I haven't been able to find any reports on any evacuation plans.

That sucks, what else can I say. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the consequences will be grim.

Imagine the sheer amount of ships/airplanes to transport such a crowd.

A ship can hold approximately 1,000 passengers - so you'd need 11,000 ships to transport all of them.

A plane can carry, say 200, passengers, you'd need 55,000 planes to evacuate all.

And where do they plan to put all these people? They would need food and shelter at least.

It would be more merciful just to kill them all

Yeah, it's hoax all the way, I think.

I also think that the whole story is a hoax. If anything serious was really going on in Australia now , immdediate measures would need to be taken. You can't expect 11 million people to be ready and willing to leave their country in just a matter of days. Imagine Russia or China secretly plotting to drop a nuclear bomb on Australia. The latter would have to evacuate all of its population and the evacuation certainly would not be announced with only a couple of days remaining till the expected start of bombing. This situation is absolutely impossible but somehow it makes the situation with irrigation seem hardly possible too.

Especially since 11 million people is like 52% of australias population.

So far I have traced the report from someone called Sorcha Faal who is said to be a scientist associated with the Russian Academy of Science. Also this report may have been associated with "PRAVDA".

So to get to the bottom of this we must first find out if Sorcha Faal is someone who has credibility. Somehow I doubt that she does but I am interested to know what is known of her inside of Russia. Hmmm?

I haven't heard of that name. The name is not Russian, so what makes you say she's associated with the Russian academy of science? does she work as a foreign scientist in Russia? Can you supply us with a couple of sources where we can find more info about this woman?

I do not know, just another hoax, as it was said before.
