Well, I wouldn't generalize it over an entire nation like saying all the Russians are brainwashed or anything, but I think it's no big surprise almost all leftists/socialists/commies regardless of their nationality are either quite brainwashed folks or brainwashers themselves.

I said I wouldn't generalize it OVER A NATION, of course I would do it over political classes, which sometimes are so easy to describe in a couple of words.

But your thought process is illogical. In the same breath, you say not to generalize about one thing, but ok to generalize about another? And to lump all "leftists" into one ball... is really a very extreme generalization.

If they were that simple to describe "in a couple of words" - it seems strange to me that our politicians are paid fortunes to nit pick and bicker such "simple policies" to death.

No, it's a mistake to oversimplify and to generalize, in my opinion.

Well there is nothing wrong with socialism. And I don't think the communist party is going to be making a comeback. They are history.

I don't get what some people's hangup is with "socialism." It seems to me, when I talk with these kinds of people, that they rarely have any depth of understanding as to what socialism really is. They have a definition based on rhetoric. Very sad.

There are good and bad aspects to socialism. What is wrong with at least looking at the good...?
