Mmmm, interesting. And I was under the impression that pure bears were orthodox, and all the impure bears are catholic or muslim.

It used to be so before the October Revolution. The Soviet regime persecuted and oppressed Orthodox bears. All of them were hunted by Red bears and forced to paint their coat in red. They are not Pure ones since then.
