Back to the topic. One option, the tattoo, was already mentioned. Another one which is used in Russia is a record in the citizen's passport. It is used for people suffering of illness which can lead to fainting. Diabetes for example.

Thanks, CoffeeCup. I'd hoped there was some option, but never considered that medical workers would check passports. But of course, it makes sense.
