The point of giving such treatment is to get him to fix the piano in the way so that it won't need any repairing in the future.

I must have tried the wrong Russian chocolate- or it was just too old.

Yeah that^^^ And he's fixing the piano for less than he should be charging. At any rate, I like making good food when I'm in the mood.

We ended up having dinner due to changes, but it was delicious. Dmitry told me all about real pelmeni and how delicious they are. He liked mine enough for seconds and was happy to just put smetana on them. Torte was delicious as well. Dmitry knocked $10 off his service fee for dinner. He also played some Russian children's songs. During regulation we discussed Russian literature, skazki, adn Napolean. It was great.

    I made pelmeni once. ONCE.
They came out OK but the kitchen looked like a bomb went off.
I have since stopped making pasta at home. I have learned my lesson.
I'm easily amused late at night...

Here, or maybe more in Canada, a different name is used. Pierogi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's a Polish word. In Russian they are called вареники (any other stuff than meat). Пироги in Russian means different thing.

So is this Russian or Polish?

This is what I think of when I hear the word pirog (classic school lunch food if you add some vegetables!)
I noticed that in Belarus they sometimes use this word when they speak about cakes.
