Я не знаю, но последний раз когда я использовал слово "часть" в этом смысле, они сказали мне, что лучше сказать "область" .... может быть, я неправильно помню.

I don't know, but the last time I used "часть" in that sense, they told me it's better to say "

Ты должна начать изучать грамматику. Я рекомендую тебе этот сайт:

You should start to study the grammar. I recommend this site:

Большинство слов имеют массу значений.... которые не соответствуют английским вариантам.

Well, I can tell ya, I studied English since I was 7, I lived in Canada+USA for more than 10 years, my job includes giving public talks, writing articles, grant proposals, reports, etc, all in English, and I am still confused what to use and when . No matter how much you try, the second language never becomes the same as your first. I hope I dont sound too pessimistic.

It is a list of words which are the same in English as Russian, and on the right there is a hint to help you understand what it means.

These are cognates. These words have the same (or similar) meaning and pronunciation as in English.

    "мама" is "mama".
    "папа" is "papa".
"акт" is "act" as in "an act of a play"
    "парк" is "park".
    etc

    Note:
The Russian letter "п" is pronounced similar to the English "p".
So "папа" is pronounced like "papa".
The Russian letter "р" is pronounced similar to the English "r".
So "парк" is pronounced just like "park".
