well, man, the best restaurant I've ever been to costed me over 100 bucks, but I would not go there often. Certainly, you can get hooked on this food, but it's just not my price range. It's for business meetings, to impress american guests with the best of french cuisine.

Even had this 'godfather'-looking fellow in a seriously expensive suit and lots of gold jewelry sitting alone at a corner, lamp-lit table, and holding court. And guys, also in seriously expensive suits and jewelry would come in periodically, and deferentially sit at the table, and then ask this guy for something, then be sent away. It was hilarious! Right out of a Scorsese film! We were convinced that he was either mafia, or some seriously powerful Muskovite.
yeah i will probably have to dress nice since we are going there for lunch, maybe dinne not sure, but yeah my mom is paying hehe

    Yolki-palki is just great!
230р for "телега" (unlimited snacks, very tasty) + 130р for 1 liter of beer = 360р and eat until you can't eat anymore! Great for командировка!
And it is by no means americanized. Genuine Russian village style.

When we are in Moscow, we are rich tourists

Seriously, I love restaurants. And there are no good Russian places in Montreal, or anywhere close to it. Chinese, indian, italian, french, irish, german, corean, vietnamese, japanese, and what have ya, but not Russian.

The best and most real Russian food is not in those places, it's at Grandma's house!

    Oh, puleeze!
Pushkin's one of the top 3 restaurants in Moscow. It's very popular with the Moscow elite and the power-brokers. The food is soooo good!

Sapphire, you will have a fantastically tasty time there. I do recommend getting a reservation.

    Sapphire,

Yes, could be busy at lunch depending on the day...I'd make a reservation to be safe. If there's a concierge at your hotel (most probably), just simply ask the concierge to call in a reservation, that's her/his job. Very easy. Also, there is usually a hostess on duty at Pushkin who speaks English, if you're concerned about your Russian.
