    How many tenses in Russian?

    Please explain to me how the right answer is 2 -- there isn't a future tense in theory.

    What the news? As far as I know from my school program there were 3 till now (прошедшее, настоящее и будущее) and 2 verb aspects for use in past and future (perfective and imperfective). But, where did you take it from (info about 2 tanses)? Is there a new C.P.S.U. decree that cancels the future tense in Russian? I personally object to that!!!
    Could you please occasionally correct my stupid errors!

    I think it's because only the imperfective verbs have Present tense, while the perfective verbs have Future tense, but actually they all have the same present tense endings.

    Hm-m! Yes, for some verbs your are right.
    Let's consider Б́егать/Пробеѓать

    Я б́егал. Я б́егаю. Я буду б́егать.
    Я пробеѓал. Я пробеѓаю. Я пробеѓу. Я буду пробеѓать.


    Вообще-то когда-то такое (простое) будущее от настоящего особо не обособлялось. Это будущее-настоящее. Зато ещё были и предбудущее и дрю сложные формы будущего.
