The article didn't say there was no radiation, it said radiation levels were normal. How much is normal for a missle silo? I have no idea.
I'm just curious to know why there was money stashed in a missile silo.

They didn't say there WASN'T food either. It's just that money is far more interesting -- something you can write an article about. Would you rather hear about how a huge stash of money was found or about how 40 boxes of Twinkies were found?
