No offense. I hope this doesn't ruin our e-friendship.
I'm rather neutral. But frankly speaking they never awake sympathy within me.

They are certainly crickets or at least they look like them. They are huge. The last few years millions of them come during the summer for a few weeks. The ground moves with them. The tires on your truck crackles as you drive over them. The ones that don't get crushed by the wheels are scavenged by those left alive. That's why the tire tracks are darker.

    had much sleep lately?

I really dont want to give you acrophobics sleepless night.............well I do really

I read, I think it was on a website somewhere that on average, during our sleep, we would have eaten 12 spiders.............because spiders like to go somewhere moist and warm.....like ones mouth................so when you go to bed tonight, take some salt and pepper with you, as you never know........maybe even some ketchup!!

    Cockroaches!

    Does anybody dislike them?
Despise them - completely - those vile little beasts. I've already dusted my kitchen area with Boric acid powder several weeks ago.

Spiders? I feel kind of neutral about them as long as they respect my space. I've encountered some sizable Tarantulas while hiking in the desert, but they don't bother anyone. Once I was bitten by a scorpion - sneaky little bugger.

    I like snakes, though.
If only you could see . . . what I have seen, with your eyes.

I HATE scorpions! One time while camping in the Sierra Nevadas those creepy little guys encircled us as we sat by the campfire (luckily we were sitting on chairs).

I wouldn't say that i am scared of spiders, but what luvmonsta says summerises my attitude. If i see a spider, thats fine. ut if i see one at night, in my bedroom, i go an get mum.

I get mum because I can't put it into a glass or whatever myself, as i don't want to hurt it. Well thats my excuse anyway :P

Oh! When I was a baby my mum and dad and I went to a hotel in like Arkansas or something...I was playing around on the floor in my diaper, and my dad picked me up and RIGHT THERE was a scorpion about to strike!! It was one with small claws, so I'm told - and did you know the ones with the small claws are most poisonous? Anyways then my dad just squished it with his boot. haha. Another immaculate near-death experience to add to my scrapbook..

I like spiders because they're expert hunters and webmakers....I have respect for them, and I try not to hurt them especially because I know everyone's always out to get them. Just like with humans, though, I don't like the stupid ones.... I don't like insects who bumble around with no purpose or plan that smack into windshields and get electrocuted inside lightbulbs and so forth... Have you seen those 2-4 inch bugs (mosquito hawks?) I'm not afraid of them, but they're annoying little buggers... They always invade my house in the springtime...Here's a pic (sorry):

It's certainly become a biological class, and kwatts59 makes an opportunity of that to enlighten everybody how you could name all these poor little things in Russian.

I wonder what comes next. This topic is the most popular by now.

More like an opportunity to 'show off' how much russian he knows. If someone asked then someone asked but just translating random words is rather pointless.

I am showing off my skills on how to use a dictionary.

Just trying to help the noobies learn a few russian words. Maybe it is useful, maybe not.

But I don't think there is any harm in it.

Anyway, here are a few more words.

    mosquito
    комар
    москит

    butterfly
    бабочка
    мотылёк

    ant
    муравей

    scorpion
    скорпион

It was really gross. Is anyone else deathly afraid of spiders...or am i just a wuss?
You is me. I can't even touch one with my flesh when trying to kill it, even when the hand would be the quickest kill. I feel shakey for a long time after it is dead. Only spiders.
