It doesn't really make sense to me either.

Perhaps it's a questionnaire to see how many Americans can be bothered to use correct grammar, how many can't be bothered or how many make up their own grammar rules for some reason, possibly due to thinking it's correct after not seeing their own mistakes.

The post doesn't look finished. We don't know what the scientist will do after he/she receives complete questionnaires let alone what it's investigating...
Please correct any Russian language mistakes I make.

It is not a "school" test

The aim of this test is not to count, how many Americans (or any other nation, because I investigate several nation`s language mind) make punctuation mistakes, but to understand, what is the best way to punctuate any text for all people, and how to find the best way to correct some punctuation rules according to a numan mind! The results of this test you can find in my artical, which I am planning to write for this forum.

Really depends on whether I'm writing something formal or informal. I'm more casual with punctuation in casual writings naturally.

    1. Often (in formal writing)
    2. Sometimes (in formal writing)
    3. Often (in casual writing)
    4. Sometimes (in casual writing)
    5. Never (almost never, casual or formal)

    6. Never uses punctuation, but let's the meaning of the sentence sort itself out.
    Sometimes (in casual writing)

The best way to use punctuation is to use it correctly. While many people do not use correct punctuation, they still understand it when they see it.

    1. According to the rules of punctuation:
    Always Often Sometimes Never

    I don't know.

    2. According to the sense of your text:
    Always Often Sometimes Never

    Don't know.

    3. According to the intonation and the rhythm of your text :
    Always Often Sometimes Never

    You're really confusing me.

    4. According to the “signal words” (for example, conjunctions) in your text:
    Always Often Sometimes Never

    Hmm....

    Always Often Sometimes Never

Why am I taking this test anyway?

    6. Write down your own variant:
    Always Often Sometimes Never

    No.

    Good luck!!!

I didn't get the questions that you asked me. But hey! At least I tried.
Was it supposed to be something that has to do with the punctuation in Russian? I'm sorry, but I'm really confused here....

    1. According to the rules of punctuation:
    Sometimes

    2. According to the sense of your text:
    Often

    3. According to the intonation and the rhythm of your text :

I personally think that correct punctuation is whatever gets the idea you want to portray to your audience, which for me at least, doesn't often conform to the rules. Fortunately, my English teacher likes me so I can get away with it

    Hope I helped
