I'm strongly attached to the following:

1. The Earth cannot be the Hub of the Universe, otherwise it's ridiculous.

Are you asking whether:
- Somewhere there are intelligent life forms, like us
- Somewhere there is life, no matter how primitive
- Aliens are visiting us with their spaceships (UFO)

Seems some people need to take an astronomy class. Bianca, uhm, you said something like "there has to be another planet out there like earth where human like creatures could exhist" or something close.

But did you ever think that maybe life could evolve in such a way where it wouldn't need a planet like earth? Infact its quite possible the same elements which we are composed of and are vital to sustaining life could be toxic to aleins. Maybe Oxygene would kill them, and they need some form of radiation that would otherwise kill us. Just like how plants need Corbon Dioxide in order to acheive photosynthisis (along with sunlight)... And they give off oxygene as a biproduct. What about the crustatians that live on or around the toxic super heated thermal vents that are miles under the ocean. No sun light, no oxygene, an environment that would kill a human in seconds, is a perfect spawning place for other life forms.

And also fantom605 made the statement that a planet would have to be a certain distance away from a star, which is generally incorrect. It depends on how hot (white dwarf) or cold (red giant) the star is... And also how thick/well developed the atmosphere is. Mars is a far far far greater distance away from the sun than earth, but sceintists can record tempuratures of up to 65 / 70F in the martian summer. Perfect for sustaining life. If Venus's atmoshpere wasnt SO thick it could let off some gas and then the surface temp wouldn't be 400+ =)

So alien life would most likely be possible in conditions that are harmful to us. Though, i voted no because i thought the topic was about UFO aliens.

I see your point. I should have said that other planets would have roughly the same conditions as we have here, not the distance thing. Maybe, somehow, other creatures can survive temperatures more extreme than we or any other creatures on Earth can, but I highly doubt it... Hell, even the T-1000 would have a tough time getting things done in 400+ degree weather! But temperature aside, who's to say that an organism needs an oxygen rich environment... Maybe they need arsenic, and oxygen is poisonous to them...

Useless tangent: Oxygen actually is toxic to most forms of life on Earth, including humans. If other stuff didn't kill us first, the oxygen eventually would.

You try breathing pure oxygen for a while, and you will see how long you live. In fact, even ozon (O3) is poisonous. It is really Nitrogen we humans need! Along with some other minor elements...
