I always like the letter "Ж". Maybe you can have that tatooed somewhere.

Very funny.. but.. umm.. no. This would be a very personal special memorial tattoo.. so I don't believe the rear would be an appropriate placement. But thanks anyways. :evil: :evil: :P

Memorial ? It'd be much less painful to have a memorial mural airbrushed onto the side of your trailer home... also, skin sags much faster than aluminum.

Jeff, she want's to permanent mark her love for her grandfather, she isn't worried about how a pretty butterfly will look in 99 years and 2 months.

Hey! I checked out this website and forum because I'm interested in researching and finding out more about my culture. Not to be chastised by some stranger for wanting to express myself. Tattoos obviously are not for everyone, I myself find them to be intriguing and interesting. P.S don't stereo-type people, it's a big turn-off.

I would strongly disrecommend tatooing the letter Ж in any obvious spot

Regarding the poem: which limb is long enough to fit it? Let me rephrase this. Whose limb is long enough?

Regarding "John" DenisM translated the pronunciation of "John" for you. If you are looking for the Russian name that is the equiv. of "John" you want Ivan (Иван)

John - the jewish name Iohann or Johan. The adopted russian form of this name is Ivan (Иван) or abbreviated to Vanya (Ваня).
The same is about Jack - jewish Jakob or Iakov. The correresponding rissian name is Iakov(Яков) or simply Yasha (Яша).

Love -the native name. And the native russian name is Lyubov (Любовь) или просто Люба.

Сталина is not old Russian name. The name is in honour of Stalin. Is it old name if it sprang up in 1930’s?

There actually is name “Рада” that means “gladness”.
But the name is very rare.
In general “Рада” associates with the Ukraine.
Ukrainian parliament is called “Верховная Рада” it can be translated as Supreme Council.
“Рада” means Council, Assembly, meeting.

In the history the word is bound up with, the Pereyaslavskaya Rada (Переяславская Рада), 1654.
The signing of the agreement about the reunion of Ukraine and Russia in 1654 on the Pereyaslavskaya Rada.

I must of been lucky, because I met an old lady in Petersburg who helped me out of a tricky situation, and her name was Rada... Hm!
