    joke of the day

A mother was reading a book about animals to her 3 year old daughter.
Mother: \\\"What does the cow say?\\\"
    Child: \\\"Moo!\\\"
Mother: \\\"Great! What does the cat say?\\\"
    Child: \\\"Meow.\\\"
Mother: \\\"Oh, you\\\'re so smart! What does the frog say?\\\"
And this wide-eyed little 3 year-old looked up at her mother and in her deepest voice replied, \\\"Bud.\\\"

I regret to inform you that your joke sucks. It also has nothing to do with Russian. Sorry to break the truth to you on both of these points.

What if he wrote it in Russian your Lordship?

Meow (can't figure this one out). \\\ "

I know the translation and Russian suck, but I'm trying...

I have to admit I smirked when I read the lame joke anyway. I don't think a 3 year old could remember those stupids comercials though.

The cross between the "joke" and the translation does get better, amazingly enough. Now it sounds like a story by one of those suicidal Russian writers. Completely unintelligible.

The thing is I don't think those commercials made it over the ocean, did they? If not, then the average Russian is looking at it like

I am not sure. I might have seen it over there during one of my visits. However bud is really not popular at all and I doubt anyone would remember.

Isn't it? I can't believe that was such a "hit" in the states.

I agree completly that it could be confusing to our overseas friends.

I just had an urge to practice my suicidal Russian writting. :P

Well, I haven't seen the commercial and I have lived in the US now 7 years . Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't even own a TV?

    WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUU UPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, those were pretty horrible, not to mention annoying. Really -- they were just as annoying as the first "word" I used in this post. Still, though, as a general rule, all the best ads are done by beer companies.

Well, at least the wassup one was slightly amusing. This frog thing was stupid. I think the advertisers for the beer companies get paid in beer, that is why they are so "funny".
