I have a friend that was an exchange student in Russia and he said he couldnt get any condoms while he was there.
Is that true or is it just that he doesn't know where to get them?

What does a condom mean? A type of condo or something about?
Yes it's <Instrumental> of condo!
I should think it would be difficult to get a condom on Russia. I mean, that'd have to be an awfully huge prophylactic.
 yes you can get condoms in Russia, they are just called презерватив  go to a pharmacy, and you can get some
Yes it's true because we do not have sex in Russia.

It's the word Mordan uses when he doesn't understand when people are being sarcastic.
Russia has a bad AIDS situation at the moment, yet they don't sell condoms as widely as other places. Here in the UK they have condom machines in almost every public toilet. I didn't notice a single condom machine when I was in Moscow.
Well you can buy condoms in any pharmacy, almost any supermarket and kiosk in Moscow.Quote:

People tend to prefer the machines cos you don't have to talk to anyone.Quote:

Looks like you used one of the meanings one time and another the second time.

I'd like to know, just how you plan on getting condoms ON russia anyways.
"Russia" is obviously some sort of twisted euphemism for the male genetalia, probably prevalent in Bianca's country since the early 70's, i.e. the height of the Cold War.
Yes, Bianca, but it is a very complex, arduous, and mentally draining process, best explained by a medical professional, because it involves a great deal of flexibility, mental fortitude, and a fair bit of luck.
A "dinger" is my own little word for condom. I have too much time on my hands!Quote:

It would probably go like this...
Blackmage: Презерватив, пожалуйста.
Pharmacist: (responds with some arbitrary cost) Миллион рублей.
Blackmage: (Smiles stupidly)
Else, at a machine...
Blackmage: (ponders meaning of strange symbols...)
Blackmage: Презерватив, пожалуйста.
Blackmage: (inserts currency/credit card)
Blackmage: (removes condom)
ON RUSSIA ??? I didn't even notice the typo. Sorry. I am a terrible typist.
I sincerely forgive thee, Biancca.Quote:

More inportantly, do Russians actually use condoms?
I read somewhere that during cold war times there were no condoms and the average Russian woman had 8 abortions.
PLEASE tell me that is not true.

What a nonsence. In any pharmacy. And not imported (as now), but produced locally.Quote:

So there is credence to the theory that less accessible condoms in immediate situations raises the incidents of unwanted pregnancies and spreading of STD's. (Sorry about the almost punned word 'rustic'. Russia = rustic. I like to keep myself amused with such feeble connections).
Wow, man I was absolutely sure that Friendy was sitting aside laughing her AO ... But then her post.. Well, who knew.
I have to say that I sure have found a jillian laughs in this thread. So just to recap-- next time I'm there I should go to a "farmacy" and pick up a bunch of кондоны, right? Unless I'm in Rostov (which one?).
This is it, my bedtime, so don't wait up. I'm ouddahere...
