    British don't need a Russian Visa?

    Now this is completely puzzling.
    When my father learnt I was getting a Russian Visa, he asked me
    Why? You have a british passport
    He went to Moscow in 1999 without a visa. I saw his passport. There are 4 stamps because he went there twice. But no VISA!! That means he did not need an invitation at all. He just had an hotel booked.

    Can someone explain me this? My father has no idea. Is it because Russian citizens don't need a visa to go to the UK?

    Anyway, Russians do need a British visa and I heard it was rather hard to get it.

    I am a Britisher and been to Russia twice and needed a visa on both ocaisions. And one trip was only for 3 days.

    And why do you have a British passport?

    britts need a visa and russians also need one to get into england but it is difficult to get one. my gf came to england for 2 weeks with me and she got the visa but my god it was frustrating (like anything official in russia!)
