I'm easily amused late at night...
Russia Today TV station is pretty good, I think. If you don't have this channel you can get it on online TV; you just download the client, and run it in fullscreen mode- Zattoo, TVU, LiveStation. (just search for it)
I'd recommend anyone to check it out. I had a chance to watch it a bit over the last few days and I will keep it.
My review:
- Good coverage of world news.
- Very professional execution.
- Some of their commentators are a bit "fringe" in their opinions. But it's interesting to hear what they have to say.
- Good mix of British, American and Russian staff.
- They have a totally insane-sounding, but probably pretty clued-up financial commentator called "Keyser" ex-Wall Street person. His latest tip: Short JP Morgan, they are crooked, deserve to go down and probably will very soon.
In terms of political shade/agenda:
- Quite objective on world news - good reporting from Europe. Interesting coverage of Russian stories.
- Wow, you should have heard what came out in the Richard Holbrooke obituary by their Paris correspondent. I almost dropped the iron (was ironing..)
- They are not really going to critisize the current Russian leadership on this channel unfortunately... Everything else is fair game though.

Why not? I remember reading somewhere that RT has ties with the government, is that true?They are not really going to critisize the current Russian leadership on this channel unfortunately... Everything else is fair game though.

It has some ties because the Russian goverment funded its startup. Not sure if it continues too.
