Thread: Татарстан

Hello, I just got back from my month's studying in Kazan', Tatarstan, Russia.

It was a big culture shock, but overall I enjoyed it. Tatarstan is a very interesting place as it has two cultures, languages and religions.

I'm not sure if they are going to finnish all their rennovation works by their 1000th year anniversary celebrations at the end of August.

Anyone else been there?

I have never been to Kazan but I would love to go there sometime.
How was the weather there? How were the people? How is the economy? You did not write while your were out there. Do they have internet cafes there?

Could you imagine if they don't have internet!? :O

I am a kazan tartar, but unfortunately never been there. Would love to visit one day. And I grew up in the mixture of 2 culteres as well, Rusian and Islamic, and that helps a lot to understand people and world.
