Yes, the point is good, to try to keep a topic focused... "linear"... but I only ask that we permit an occasional topic to go "naturally" in the direction it "wants" to go.

Sometimes our topics go in "non-linear" directions, away from the original post... in English we sometimes say "goes off on a tangent"... or "thinking 'outside the box'. "

Some of the greatest ideas, thoughts, discoveries developed from thoughts that were not "on-topic"...

Art... such as Picasso, Dali, Monet, Mondrian, Van Gogh ... ALL of them, EVERYONE of them went "off-topic"... "hijacking" the art world.

Einstein, Kepler, Newton, Copernicus, Galileo, Darwin... ALL went WAY "off-topic" ... "hijacking" the scientific world... but made some of the greatest discoveries in human history.

Feynman's discovery of QED (Quantum Electro-Dynamics) changed Physics forever... and he was WAY-WAY-WAY off-topic with the rest of the world's Physicists... he "hijacked" a Nobel Prize.

Feynman = Quantum Physics. Opposite direction and going "off-topic" from Einstein and Newton.

Yes, I understand the need to control and try to stay "on-topic", many of our conversations...but some of our adventures going "off-topic" have been some of our best post-threads... into learning different ideas, thoughts and our cultures.

We have all learned, we have all gained much from these posts that have traveled into different topics and thoughts, especially the "off-topic" posts.

Please... our Administrators have always been balanced in their thinking... careful, thoughtful, and non-censoring... when control was necessary, then our Administrators controlled the situation peacefully and intelligently. Please don't change this.

Maybe we should just commence with the дубинки on you for wasting our time with an equally "terroristic" post? I have no problem with people who take different tangents to a post or making jokes -- just with people posting with no other goal in mind than to whine. Please understand that this is teh Internets. You don't really matter. You're just an IP address in Bhutan. Nobody cares about your opinion. Your arguments, no matter how perceptive or accurate don't matter. Facts don't matter. Accuracy is optional. All you can get out of it is what you feel like getting out of it. If you want a well-organized, deep spiritual experience, find a shrink or a priest. And, just to reinforce the importance of random tangents, Feynman was huge supporter of Tyva (a remote Russian region). There was a really awesome documentary where this shows up called "Ghenghis Blues." Sweet movie.

Это Интернет. Никому не важно, сколько у вас сообщений. Любой может появляться здесь и говорить ерунду и жаловаться на все_, что хочется, до тех пор, пока _ведет себя в пределах допустимости ("допустимого" is better).
