"платить" and "заплатить" is just a pair of "imperfective/perfective"...

I think "попрётесь" is from "переться" which is a spoken and a rude version of "тащиться" or "двигаться". It can involve a negative attitude to the person in the subject.

Some more nuances.

If I asked someone to write his/her phone number for me, I would say:
Напиши номер своего телефона. (not "запиши") - His/her phone number is unknown to me.

This is not dative. "С голоду" = "с голода", this is somewhat archaic form of Genitive (с чего?). Not so archaic, we can still see some traces of it in the modern language.
