Instead of a deeper usage of the cases, i would say in russian the cases are more prominent and noticeable. Plus there are like alot more.

English totally does have cases...
Nominative/Subjective
Possesive/Genetive
Objective/Accusative
Almost all of the "changes" are in the pronouns though.
