You can say "Сколько туда ехать" but it'll be ambiguous, it can mean "how long" and "how far". Usually you can determine it from context. But it's ("сколько ехать") a common way to ask anyway.

It's better to say "мне придётся" and "а потом".
Why "другом"? You're going to ride a train first, not another bus.
