Hi. I am Ia . I'm looking for new friends . I can help with Russian , and you can teach me English . I'm person who has studied the English language since childhood but with long breaks . So I need more practice to improve my knowledge.I am musician.I like classical and rock music.My hobby is pets(animals).I have got dogs and a cat , love to go camping.

Hello Ia. Welcome onboard I try to learn Russian and this board is a great help for me. I think each and every assertive Russian student needs more help about this beautiful but difficult language. I sometimes try to write russian sentences, paragraphs and even wrote a poem (xD) and send them on the forum. So helpful people here point out my bloody mistakes and this way I try to better up my Russian. So maybe you can also help me to locate my mistakes. I also like classical and rock music. I had a cat but he sadly died a few year ago. I love diving and painting. Take care.

Welcome to forum, Iya! I am a musician too! I made a little transcription for Beethoven's Waldstein sonata for guitar, first few pages. Surprisingly easy. Good for practice. Beethoven would have been a great guitarist, no doubt. But he had whole orchestra to play with. (Some notes had to be cut, as there is too much for guitar!) Studying now Russian for a few years. Since it is a habit now, it is normal thing to do.

Welcome, Iya! I am from Ukraine, but I have spent the last 14 years in Tampa, FL. So we are almost neighbors!

I re-learn to play the piano alongside with my kids. Guess what my favorite music piece is... "Georgia" by Ray Charles! I share your love of classical music. I also like instrumental music, and recently discovered a wonderful pianist, Giovanni. When he plays, it sounds as if he kisses the piano keys with his fingertips!

I homeschool my three kids. We have a cat named Cream and two hamsters named Pancake and Coffee. So when guests come over for the first time, my kids often ask them, "Would you like coffee and cream?" And when people nod "yes", my kids bring one hamster out and say, "Well, this is Coffee, and Cream is chasing squirrels outside."

You might find "general chat" very helpful in practicing hour speech skills.
