Hello Masher. How can I help you with English? Even english speakers have trouble with words borrowed from other languages because we often borrow the plural as well. For example - medium/media, focus/foci, axis/axes, datum/data. hope you find this interesting. It is interesting for me to study the origin of words. I see a lot of words in russian language which are borrowed from French.

"Sitting" a baby is only used for looking after another person's child (normally in exchange for money).
