    Help me identify Russian band

I recently heard some Russian music that I loved. Unfortunately I didn't take note of the band name. I don't have many details to go on. All I can do is describe the music, which I thought was pretty unique sounding:

It sounded like a mix of rock and pop. It featured a lot of guitar playing that seemed to be harmonized with a keyboard. Nothing overdone - very tasteful and melodic. Male singer. Overall, a very melodic, atmospheric sound with a lot of interplay with the guitar and synth.

    Any ideas?

    thanks,

    Brian

Unfortunately the information you've provided can't help to identify the band. Almost every band has a guitar and a male singer. If you try to sing or whistle the melody and post the link to the record here we would have more chances to identify the band.

Ok, it has been a while since I heard the song. I have had a melody in my head. I don't know if this is a melody that the guitar was playing or what. Also I have no idea if this is correct. It is just from memory. So I recorded the melody on my guitar. The thing about the band that is very characteristic is that the guitar and keyboard often harmonize with one another. In fact maybe some parts I am hearing is a guitar synth. Not sure. Anyway, if this triggers something, let me know!

One other thing - when I was listening to the music someone told me the band was стиле востока. But when I search that on google, I see no indication that it is a band...

Definitely not that band. The band I heard was very dramatic sounding, with pretty intricate arranging. I seem to recall one of the words they said in the song was вместе...

I don't know the melody. Search for the voice.

"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

It isn't one of those bands. It is a band that uses a lot of solo electric guitar parts playing a melody harmonized with a keyboard I think. Hard to describe, but a very unique powerful sound that creates a lot of drama in the music. Not sure if it is even considered rock per se.

AFAIK there are no musicians on this forum.

As for genre, in Russian music it is especially complicated and rock is often recognized by lyrics rather than by sound.

The band "Piknik" is known to be the most melodic rock band in Russia which utilizes different instruments harmonized to each other. Here is an example "Piknik - Hieroglyph". Unfortunately this band hardly has any connection with the music sample you've posted.

No, that's not it. The band I am trying to identify is more dramatic sounding, less laid back. The main distinguishing feature of the music I am searching for is prominent electric guitar. Can anyone recommend a good forum for music specific discussions?

    thanks,

Maybe it's "А-студио"? They used to have eastern sound in 90's maybe...
