Ой заграй ми, музиченьку
This is the title of a Ruslana song. The grammar has slightly confused me for a while.
The title is translated into English in various places as 'Play for me musician'.
Now I get that музиченьку is the vocative case of музиченько. It's the ми. My first instinct is Ми = we / us. But the other day I was learning some Polish and I found that Mi is the dative of Ja (Я) in Polish. Is Ми sound kind of colloquial/archaic form of Менi (dative)in Ukrainian? This makes sense grammatically to me in this title.
