    A Russian would be glad to find somebody from the US to converse with.

    Hi, I'd be glad to find somebody middle-aged or above to converse with via e-mails or Skype.

    So, your name is Mikhail, not Mike? I think you are confusing the Russians who are replying. Change this part:

    "A Russian would be glad to find somebody from the US to converse with."

    Just one e.g. 'This Russian would be glad to find somebody from the US to converse with.'
