    Russian Pen-Pals?

Hi, I have been enjoying this site for a couple of weeks now.

I studied Russian for a few years, but then stopped using it about 5 years ago.

I do not want to forget everything, so I looked online for ways to brush up on the Russian language.

I've applied as a pen-pal here, but there haven't been to many takers. I figured this forum would be the easiest way to communicate with native speakers. Although, I would love to have a pen-pal so I don't have to embarrass myself in front of the whole masterrussian community.

Привет, Дaddykirbs! You are very welcome here and, please, do not hesitate to ask any questions! As you could notice, this is educational forum and there no such thing as an embarrassment here.

хорошо. не знаю об которая тема говорить.

    ... Я забыль много слов...

I find that I have to look almost every word up to write anything.

My passive skills are a little better. I can get the meaning of a written or spoken passage better than I produce it myself.

I had the opportunity to speak with a young lady from the Ukraine about a year ago. She spoke so spoke and I listened... then she asked me a question... I knew what she was asking, but all I could manage at the time was "да". She chuckled.

    Это ничего. Главное - захотеть.

    хочу.

Thanks. I will continue reading and listening. I would love to visite for a month or so, so I would be completely surrounded by the language and culture. That way I'd get a better "feel" for the language.
