That city name 'Samara' was always quite curious to me. It doesn't sound Russian-Russian. There is a place in Iraq called Samarra, it has the mosque with the spiral minaret. Also the name 'Kazan' doesn't sound that Russian to me either...

Yerh, like Togliatti is Russian too.....

Here in Australia we have Aborigional names, British names, and Dutch names and loads of other names for towns and cities.
