    Hello and welcome! Good choise of city imho. A plenty of historical sites and great people there. Yes, Vladimir is relatively close to Moscow, but I don't recommend you to get there by car or bus. The train is much better choice (about 2,5 hours). I live in a town wich located near the federal road from Moscow to Vladimir (about 40 km from Moscow and 130 km from Vladimir) but If I drive to Moscow at a workday It could be a three times longer trip than to Vladimir because of horrible traffic jams near Moscow on that road.
    Please, correct my mistakes, except for the cases I misspell something on purpose!
