I think it was perfectly ok and humorous by JJ, but perhaps it would be better to not always "hijack" peoples posts (that early anyway!) and let' them get a few answeres first!

I couldn't see anything OK and humorous in the replies, just stupid, you wouldn't want to get such replies when you're looking for penpals, In fact, I think moderators should check when people post insults in reply to innocent posts and cut them. I am very disappointed!

LOL...don't you think you should listen more to the Russian proverb yourself. I mean..you are actually amusing me now..Sorry but i'm starting to like you.. however there are some things I would like to set straight:
Do you even know the difference between penpals and "real friends", because it doesn't seem to be the case. I've got a lot af friends thank you, however I would like to write people all over the world. You see, I like to get to know people before getting all sarcastic. I can be extremely sarcastic if i want, but I think it is nessesary to know people a little better before using it.
I think this is a tradition at this forum to nit-pick at this section. But, please, don't understand people wrong. No one offend anyone here. And I understand Анатолий's point, too. I think there's hardly a person to like seeing others flooding not in the proper thread.

Penpal is a pen friend. That implies you have to have the same interests, at least one. Otherwise you have nothing to talk about. You didn't give any single clue about your interests that made JJ behave a sarcastic way.

Можно до старости прожить и ума не нажить. Тут, скорее, субъективный "форумовский" возраст.
Чем больше времени проводишь на каком-либо форуме -> тем больше видишь ценности в том, что называют флудом + тем лучше понимаешь ошибки новичков. JJ с его нордическим юмором прикалывается, но не оскорбляет никого.
Природа устроена милосердно, и на одну пустую голову, как правило, найдется другая такая же, будут и у автора темы друзья по переписке.

Да чё переводить, надо просто faq написать для тех кто хочет найти пенпалов, кто бы взялся.
