Those examples came from a highly intellectual tv show called Dark Angel.

I am just learning French on my own so far but I have been at it for 2 years already. To me its much easier than Russian and more fun too. But I haven't given up on Russian just yet.

Hum.. Dark Angel! I understand now! I saw a few ones too when it was broadcasted on tv, but I had never realized there was so much slang voc' in it!! (and that it looked so...intellectual!! )
As for me, I try to impove my skills in english watching nip/tuck!! :P

Basic french is a lot easier to learn than russian I suppose. But there is a lot of cr*py rules in written french and conjugation... Moreover most young people here (in Switzerland and even in France I think) speek french like illiterate! I have some acquaintances in USA who love studying french it seems to be a very fun hobby!!
