Thread: How to start learning Japanese?

hi - I'm trying to learn Japanese too - all these epople who are saying that they found learning katakana and hiragana really easy. do/did you have any methods to learn them/any online resources you could pass on to me

If anyone can ever find a "Kinokuniya" bookstore, you'll find hundreds upon hundreds of books not only for fluent speakers of Japanese, but also for people learning Japanese. I stumbled into one(more than one, actually) when I was in Bangkok and was amazed at all the Japanese books. I almost wanted to take up Japanese just because of all the resources that were sitting right in front of me
