    What meaning does preposition "on" have here?

    Rowling recalls how one simple word put her mind at ease and her trust never waivered from that point on.

    Does this preposition use as after there? and Is waivered wavered?

    phrases with from ... on :
    from now on
    from that [this] point on
    from then on
    from Tuesday on
    etc. You cannot substitute "after" here.

    'forward' would be another word you could substitute (if that helps you understand any better). 'from that point forward'

    I've understood this sentence like this:

    Rowling's trust never wavered from that point after one simple word had put her mind at ease.

    It is right, isn't it?

    It is wrong if you consider "wavered from that point" to be a unit. It's not that her trust never wavered from some obscure point, but it never wavered afterwards (i.e. after one simple word had put her mind at ease). "From that point on" as a phrase means the same thing as "afterwards". You also get "from here on", "from now on", and the like.

    I seems to understand now. I simply got "from that point" incorrectly at first.
