Когда идете в поход, старайтесь держаться вдали от больших дорог. Лучше идти по проселочным дорогам или тропинкам.

проселочным дорогам или тропинкам = dust roads or lanes

I believe that a dirt road is the same as a dust road. A dirt road would be the usual expression. Not sure what you mean by the next question with the verb 'feel'. 'Go over the road' means cross to the other side of the road. e.g. One person telling another - If you want the post box, go over the road and it's right there.
A trail is a pathway that generally goes through woods or countryside. It can be used by most things - bikes, hikers, horses etc but generally not cars unless they are 4 wheel drive. The difference is that trails are not paved whereas a lane generally is paved. The word lane has multiple meanings. On a major road there may be one lane each side for cars to use or multiple lanes as on an Interstate. The word lane can also be used in the UK at least, to describe a small country road. I live on xxxxxxxx Lane, which is on the edge of a housing estate and if I go over the road, I am in a field of sheep! Hope that helps and not confuses.

In essence, i suppose they are the same. But the correct term for "dusty/dirty/country roads" is "Dirt road". If you say "the dust road" it sounds unartural/foriegn. Unless there is road called "dusty road".

I think lane is a british word... it's not used much (in america) unless there is a street that is an actual "Lane"... as apposed to "Avenue, street, place, lane. etc..."

Infact, when i think about it, lanes are almost always used in british movies, or movie where the setting is outside the US. And if im correct, i believe lanes are smaller streets inside of cities ?

Since it's probly from Lord Of The Rings, they were probly refering to foot paths, and trails, which run through forests.

In this case.
Trail = тропинка
"Там вдали за рекой, по тропинке, пошли бандиты."
The bandits went on the trail in the distance behind the river.

The other word, "path" , I believe in russian is "След".
I think that path can also be used in english besides the things in forests... but i dont know about russian.
"там, между двух деревьев, я оставил свой след"
There, between those two trees, i left my own path.

Path in russian is тропа, тропинка. След - trace, track.

След - is what something or somebody leaves behind while moving.

Тропинка может быть следами кого-то but you use it as a road.

Я иду по тропе - means that I use тропа as guideline.

Я иду по следу - means that I'm following somebody using his следы as a guideline.

I can explain a meaning of Russian word or expression because I feel Russian language. I have a lot of connections between words and situations in my mind and some feelings are bound with those words.

I guess the first situation is 'cross the road quietly' but could it mean 'Fly along the road like a ghost'?

I think, that path is a тропинка.
E.g. - winding path. - извилистая, изгибающаяся трропинка.

And what can you tell about the word "lap" - on the nature's lap - на лоне природы.

'Lap' [here] = 'the area formed by the upper surface of the thighs of a seated person.' It's an commonly-used word. I would translate 'on my lap' ('the child sat on my lap') as 'у меня на коленях' - does that make sense?

I have, by the way, seen 'на лоне природы' better translated - figurative usage as it is -as 'in the bosom of nature'. In your variant ('on the nature's lap'), you would in any case need to drop the definite article.
