I'm sort of a British and very much in Moscow. But you don't want to meet me, Nuta. It would destroy all those splendid illusions I'm sure you harbour. Why not try picking up the Moscow Times on a Wednesday? English-language groups advertise themselves therein. Or take yourself down to an Irish bar. Both are serious suggestions.

What is it "Irish bar"? I've never heard of it. But I heard about several English clubs. Have anybody been there? And as far as I know, there are few people from Britain or from the USA there. As usual, Russians go there to improve there English, to speak in English with each other.

And you told me to find some advertise in the Moscow Times. I have this newspaper, but I haven't seen any foreign groups there.......

By the way! as I understud, you think, that I want to speak only with British!!!!!! You are wrong, my dear friends.............! With GREAT PLEASURE I'll speak and get aquainted with people from the USA too!

Normally yes, but I'd watch it if I were you. This so-called "Линдзи" lady here (Линдзи, you're a lady wink wink) has a reputation for not suffering fools gladly. I'm a fool and she refuses to suffer, instead everyone else suffers. I wouldn't put it past her to have been referring to your feet when she was saying you were cool. She has very morbid tastes this lady. Somehow words продувная and бестия spring to mind. But maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's just me and you two will get on like a house on fire.

Every Wednesday there's a Community Noticeboard detailing, amongst other things, something called an English-language 'circle'. Could be interesting; it could, equally, be full of lunatics. Alternatively, I'm sure the nice people at the British Council (http://www.britishcouncil.ru) would be glad to point you in the right direction. It's at ул. Николоямская 1, if that helps.

My dear Lindzi(she is indeed a lady),

I have never been against the use of smileys to express actual emotions one feels(such as a friendly grin). If you remember correctly my well-quoted post about extraneous smileys was about just that, smileys used for no reason whatsoever other than to suggest that the post had no real importance. :P :P :P

Оторва is a nice one, too. Not that I want to apply that one to Линдзи in particular, but somehow продувная just triggers that one.

Hey, let's stop implying that I'm a prostitute, okay? It's not amusing at all.
