    surprise

How can I express my surprise when I see a strange thing? In Russian we say "Вот это да!!!", "Ни чего (ни фига, ни хрена и т.д ) себе!!!".

What about "Oh my God!" ?
Хорошо не просто там где нас нет, а там где нас никогда и не было.

    Yes... at the moment.
And I could say "Oh my God!". But I'm not a babushka and I'd like to use some rude idiom.
Or "Ни х@@ себе!!!" = as "Oh my God!"?

In such a way, yeah. Same as exclaiming "Jesus Christ!". Some Christian will go "Don't take the Lord's name in vain." and shake their finger at you.

    I would say:

Holy Moly! (and put my hands on my cheeks)
    What the!?
What the fudge? (can (and usually does) replace fudge with an obsenity)
Krikey! (sp?) (I assume that people in England or Australia say that, because I believe everything I see on T.V.)

I really can't think of any more, because I'm so rarely surprised, as I have no friends, and I live a boring life.
    Let's all become Circumcellions.

    yx

    Can I say "ух"?

In English - Just a short record of everyday use: -
    Gosh!
    Jesus! - Jesus H Christ! - Jeez!
Blimey! (from gorblimey - from God blind me)
    What the f~~k!
    What the heck!
    Wow!
    Crikey! - And why not
    Aah!
    Blow me down!
    Bugger me!
    Geezz!
    Gordon Bennett!
    Holy mackerel!
    I don't believe it!
    I'll be buggered!
No way! (The reply here is ‘Yes way’ )
    Wonders never cease!

At the posh end of the market we have:-
    Oh, my goodness!
    I say!
    Good Lord!
    Heavens!
    Well I never!
    Well, fancy that!

the man asked what we say when we are suprised, not what the ninja turtles say. I bet the most popular, well accepted\accurate reply would be "what the hell". Anyone and everyone will understand you when u are suprised and shout this.
Вот это да, я так люблю себя. И сегодня я люблю себя, ещё больше чем вчера, а завтра я буду любить себя to ещё больше чем сегодня. Тем что происходит,я вполне доволен!

Hee. Now that I think about it, I only use this one when something is shockingly stupid. Like when I look all over the house for my glasses and then someone points out that I'm wearing them. Or when I'm watching President Bush deliver a speech on TV

As far as I understand using Christ's name is blasphemy in your countries... In Russia there is a couple of phrases with Christ's name and people don't consider them as blasphemy.
"Господи Исусе" - чаще всего выражает удивление.
"Ради Христа" - усиливает и без того эмоциональную просьбу. Примеры использования:
    Заткнись ты, ради Христа.
    Уйди ты отсюда, ради Христа.

Too bad I do say those things, and if the ninja turtles say them as well, then they rock. Besides saying "what the hell" all the time would become quite annoying, we wanted to give him a little variety.

Then replace the hell with a Foooooo.. ahem. YES lindsay reminded me. I do say jeeeeeeeessssuuusssssssssss too.

But seriously, about 95% of the things posted, 95% of the people don't say... So yes, variety is good... but finding the right words first is probly better.

About the christ thing... i said "Ради бога!" the other day in school, and some russian girl heard me and got all offended... is it that bad ? i think not!

Did you only say "Ради бога"? I'm sure you said something else
And when you added "Ради бога" she understood that you were annoyed with her.
For example, there is a great difference between "отойдите, пожалуйста" and "отойдите, ради бога".
