Thread: Snail speaks poetically?

This is one of my favorite Russian cartoon with an English sound track. I don't speak English in that degree, but I'm sure that the way the Snail is speaking is far from typical English converstaion.

Indicator this is. Understands everything it does but speak it can't. What colours it can change. Strike it for you, shall I? If strike it I do, colour changes it does. Violet in small dots it becomes.



What sort of English is that? If I remember correctly, in the Russian original version the snail spoke in a normal way.

Now that's weird. Why make her speak like Yoda? The Snail speaks perfect Russian (or was it Intergalactic? ), and sounds like a slightly pompous lady in her 30-40s.

Cosmic Opera? I don't think Star Wars is THAT weird, but it might also be because it's not a cartoon. It's not weird in a bad way either; I kinda like it.
I'm not sure why the snail speaks like Yoda, but it's clearly intended to be based off of Yoda. And thanks for those references, I'll be sure to check them out.)

Correct me you needn't at all. Cause do that knowingly often I do. Go to English forums and pick up their spelling I do. No romantic you ein't, think I, since consider good imagination weird you do. No need to talk like Yoda there is. So, weird = abstract, in the sense I was using it. You cannot deny the cartoon's abstract quality. I think your dictionary is a little off on the word 'romantic'. Having a good imagination has absolutely nothing to do with being a romantic. I don't consider myself a romantic anyhow. Vulgar, primitive jokes?

Nothing agains weird. Whatever you meant by this word, why did you mention your LSD? What's associantion between LSD and abstraction? Why do you think a free flight of fantasy is so abnormal that requires LSD? You say that having a good imagination has absolutely nothing to do with being a romantic. Does it? Ok, read this:

All of the four points make no sense without good imagination. But you don't need no LSD for that.

Вот и я говорю - шутки насчет LSD утратили свою остроту с тех пор как по длине бороды обогнали Фиделя Кастро и Карла Маркса вместе взятых. И обычно так шутят люди у которых воображение дальше тематики LSD не простирается - то есть неромантики. А если вернуться к слову weird и abstract то надо, наверное, почитать Чуковского.
