I thought "speed read" was funny. Guess it wasn't good enough to make the cut...

Umm, I thought it ment something else - to carefully read something with high speed. It's a skill, you have to learn it whereas "flip through" means the way of reading that everyone can use. Am I right?

I know what you mean, but it isn't always used like that. The way I use it is if I forgot to read for homework or something and I'll be screwed if I don't speed read that chapter before class. (I did it today!) There is a speed read that you can take lessons for, but if the average Tiara uses it, it just means that I need to read fast.

Not exactly sure what you mean here alexei...
    (1) Actually I've already remembered it, thanks to this talking.
    (2) Actually I've already memorized it, thanks to this talking.

In either case better not to use 'talking' but...
    ...thanks to this discussion.
    ...thanks to this thread.

    Either: -
    (a) to read something carefully but at high speed. It's a skill you have to learn, whereas "flip through" means a way of reading that everyone can use.
    (b) to read something carefully but at high speed. It's a skill, you have to learn it, whereas "flip through" means a way of reading that everyone can use.

    Small correction

alexei- Rather than saying "Sure you did" I would rather say, "You sure did". Because sometimes when people speak and someone asks a question, a sarcastic answer could be "Sure you did", like they don't beleive the person their speaking with.

    Just a suggestion.

I would probably not say, "You sure did" but "Of course you did" - "You sure did" sounds very Americanizationized to me

Sounds more like something you would say to a small child. You know, with that higher tone in your voice. The same way you would talk to an animal.
