Хозяайственный. How to translate it in English?

    Hello, dear friends !
I have a question which was found as difficult. It was unexpected.

How would you translate the Russian word "хозяйственный"="A person who can lead his household affairs skillfully. And who can spend little money to gain as good a quality as possible. And the person can do almost everything from cooking to timberwork"?

    Thank you

Economical, frugal, thrifty... But that's more "бережливый"
Alice: One can't believe impossible things.
The Queen: I dare say you haven't had much practice. When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.

My guess would be to go up-scale, perhaps something like 'chatelaine' at least for women in such a position. 'Châtelaine, a woman who owns or controls a large house'

This is not a literal translation, but something ideomatic, indicating that the lady has status, power, managerial prowess...

For men, I don't know what it would be. Comptroller of the house?

у нас нет одного слова как перевод русского «хозяйственный»!
    Может быть эта фраза подойдет—
efficient and thrifty homemaker and handyman / handyperson.

Thank you very much starrysky for the discussion. I will remember in which cases the words are the most suitable.
