    As far as I know (which isn't that far) вчера means yesterday in relation to today, not the day before in relation to some other day.

    If you asked me, I'd say:
    "Они уехали только вчера, а уже казалось, что прошла целая вечность"=
    They had departed just the day before, and it already seemed like a whole eternity had passed since
    but
    "Они уехали только вчера, а уже кажется, что прошла целая вечность" =
    They only left yesterday, but it already seems like forever
    =
    They departed only yesterday and it already seems like a whole eternity has passed since

    Nope. Вчера can also mean накануне depending on the context.

    In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.
