    Boogeyman

    Hello, friends!

I read Stephen King's story and have some questions about it.

Shirl would wake up and cry every night and Rita would pick her up and sniffle.

The kid was dead... Just as white as flour except for where the blood had... had sunk.

What does the words "sniffle" and "sunk" mean here?
Please, can You correct, if I have made mistakes.

sunk is past for sink. На onelook.com пишут что
verb: fall or drop to a lower place or level
    или appear to move downward

Russian is tough, let’s go shopping!

Boogeyman (bogeyman) = American version of Baba Yaga.
