    'also' vs 'as well' vs 'too'

    So what d'you reckon?

    This may be helpful for a start.

    Also, too and as well can be used in many of the same contexts.
    • She's a valued colleague, and a great friend too OR and a great friend as well OR and also a great friend.
    • Smoking makes you ill. It costs a lot too/as well. It's also expensive OR Also, it's expensive.

    - also is the most formal and the most likely to be used in formal writing such as reports.
    - as well is the most informal and the most likely to be used in speech.
    - too is never used at the beginning of a clause. Also is not usually used at the end of a clause
    De gustibus et coloribus non disputandum.

    The following sentences all have the same meaning.
    Examples:
    There is also a motorcycle. (normal)
    There is a motorcycle too. (informal)
    There is a motorcycle as well. (formal)

    There is a motorcycle also. (sounds a bit strange)
    Какая разница, умереть богатым или бедным?

    Какой толк от богатства если ты не счастлив.

    "as well" is the most formal of the three options.

    "too" can also mean "слишком"
    "too many" = "слишком много"
    Какая разница, умереть богатым или бедным?

    Какой толк от богатства если ты не счастлив.

    According to the dictionary, yes. The answer might vary depending on the location.
