    Servus!

    Ich studiere Deutsche im Uni jetzt. Im September werde ich auch Russische studieren.

    German "studieren", like the Russian verb "изучать", means "to study smth deeply and seriously". For instance, you can "studieren" biology, or medicine. You can say "ich studiere Deutsch", but that would mean you're studying it as a linguist. If you simply learn it, like someone who wants to understand and speak it, you "lernst" it.

    "studieren" remains the proper word, then.
    I am majoring in German and hope to be able to minor in Russian starting in september.
